ABOUT EMMA
MY STORYHi, I’m Emma—designer, sewist, and creative force behind the Emree Collective house of brands. With a background in interior design and a lifelong love for sewing, I’ve always been drawn to the intersection of style and functionality.
Born and raised in the mountains of New England, 15 years ago I traded in (most) of the snow to become a North Carolinian. With 14 years in interior design—from furniture design/sales to new builds & home renovations—I’ve built a career around craftsmanship, design, and functional style.
When I’m not sewing, I’m fueling my creativity with an iced coffee and an adventure. While time off is hard to find, I prefer to spend it enjoying the Gulf Coast with family, or enjoying live music wherever I can find it.
EMREE COLLECTIVEEstablished in 2020, Emree Collective began as a showcase of my design work and collaborations with clients, builders, contractors, and trades, highlighting my passion for beautiful and intentional spaces.
Over time, it has grown into a broader vision—an evolving house of brands, all rooted in design.
From concept to execution, I bring creativity, functionality, and a keen eye for detail to every project, ensuring each space tells a story as unique as the people who live in it.
My most recent design work includes working with home builders on design development and bringing client homes to life.
MILLHAUS SEWING CO.What sets Millhaus apart is our commitment to reducing waste in the upholstery industry; our leather comes from upholstery remnants that would otherwise go to the landfill.
Millhaus Sewing Co is a boutique-style business specializing in handmade leather bags with a playful twist. Every bag tells a unique story, our patterns are custom-designed in-house and named after influential female singers. Our mission to blend fashion with function and sustainability helps each customer embrace style without compromising on values, knowing that every purchase contributes to a greener, more sustainable future. Each bag is meticulously crafted using high-quality, sustainably sourced leather, and infused with thoughtful details like card pockets and key leashes, making them perfect for the everyday woman.
Sustainability is at the heart of Millhaus Sewing Co. We craft our leather bags using upholstery remnants, giving high-quality materials a second life instead of sending them to landfills. Partnering with NC upholsterers, we minimize waste and support the circular economy. Each bag is made in-house with care, keeping our waste rate around 5%. We also source hardware and materials from U.S. companies, reducing our carbon footprint while supporting local businesses.
THE WORKROOMThe Millhaus Workroom specializes in handcrafted soft home furnishings, bringing custom draperies, pillows, and textile details to life. Partnering with interior designers, I help translate their vision into beautifully tailored pieces that elevate their clients' spaces. Every stitch is thoughtfully executed, blending quality craftsmanship with an eye for timeless design.
The traditional workroom industry is seeing a wave of retirements, and with it, the risk of losing the artistry and craftsmanship that define custom soft furnishings. My goal in opening this workroom is to keep these time-honored skills alive, preserving the meticulous handcrafting techniques that have been passed down for generations. By blending tradition with fresh creativity, I aim to ensure that the beauty of custom, high-quality soft goods continues to thrive.
