I’m so excited to share a little peek of the lights I’m going to be installing at the townhouse with Shades of Light.

Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas to me! I have a bunch of “home themed” presents under the tree this year for the townhome and these boxes are filled with my new lights from Shades of Light. I got by with the old, ugly lights for as long as I could bear – they’re very 1990’s and they had to go. I’ll share the before and afters a little later, but I’m starting today by sharing my design boards so you can see how my vision for each space came together… and how I chose my new lights.
I focused on swapping out two types of lights – vanity lights and flush mount lights.
VANITY LIGHTS
I decided to start with swapping my bathroom vanity lights. Once I put all that work into fixing up each bathroom, the old lights really stuck out like a sore thumb! Shades of Light had just what I needed for each bathroom, and it was so easy to use their search filters on their website to narrow down what I was looking for. I loved that I could search by finish, and even select the number of lights I wanted in my vanity lights. Even though I knew I was looking for something specific I’m still very indecisive so narrowing this down helped, hands down.
I went with this brass two light fixture for the two smaller bathrooms, the hall bath and the guest/rental bathroom.
I went with this three light fixture for the new hall/master bathroom in matte black to really bring home my love for an all black and white color palette.
FLUSH MOUNT LIGHTS
I also added these flush mount lights onto my order – I’m sure we all know what I’m talking about when I say that my hatred for those so called “boob lights” is next level. Shopping for an updated alternative for the areas that I needed flush mount lights was a pain from the start.
Let’s face it, flush mount lights aren’t that pretty. That’s what I thought when I started my search, and I looked everywhere. I immediately knew I had to have these ones, the only hard part was deciding a finish option. I decided on the Matte Black/Antique Brass. I have two of these – one in the kitchen and one in the laundry hallway and I couldn’t help myself to install this one in the kitchen first. Here’s a little sneak peek of what it looks like installed. Do you love it as much as I do?
