What I’m Buying To Get Organized At The Townhouse

Sharing a peek into some of the items I’ve purchased to get organized at the townhouse.

Here’s a quick break down of the major pieces I’ve purchased for the townhouse already.  My main focus has been finding items that are clean and pretty but must be items to keep me organized down the road. I have a ton of stuff between my pillow shop and needing space for all that comes with a sewing studio as well as needing a functioning linen closet including additional storage. I’ve broken down my favorites today so you can see what’s what.

OFFICE ORGANIZATION

DESK STORAGE – I’ve had a smaller version of the basic LINNMON desk from Ikea for a while now, I saw that they had a long 78″ desk top which ended up fitting perfectly next to my new pantry at the townhouse. I added the ALEX storage drawer to keep my sewing equipment organized and it should be perfect.

WALL SHELVES – I’ve had these shelves at my apartment and they’re amazing. I plan to move these over to the new office and use them for storage above my desk space.

STOCK SHELF + STORAGE – I needed both closed and open storage for items like stock fabric and my printer and extra machines, etc. I also needed a narrow unit to fit within the half wall that I had built to split the office from the dining room. When I found this narrow version of the IVAR shelving system, I knew it would work perfectly. It took much longer to assemble than I assumed it would, but it was so worth it in the end… now I just have to decide if I’m going to keep  the raw wood, stain it or paint it.

LINEN CLOSET ORGANIZATION

BOOKSHELVES – I’ve seen the BILLY bookcase at Ikea many times before and never thought anything of it… but when I saw that they added door options to make it look much cleaner and close off some of the shelves, sold. I got the half doors so the top half is open shelving for easy access and the bottom can be left a little more messy and not always put together. This is perfect for my open linen closet.

BASKETS – I went back and forth about where to get this simple square basket from and when I saw these for a pack of 5, I knew I had to have them. They’re the perfect height for open shelves and storing items in the linen closet like lotion bottles or even smaller towels. I went ahead and got two packs of 5, so I’m sure I’ll find some good use for them all.

Have you had experience with any of these items?? I really love that Ikea now offers the Billy Bookcase with door options to close it off, it’s pretty nice looking too!
