Sharing a look at some of the finishes that I’ve selected for the townhouse, you’ll love the visuals and boards that I’ve pulled together to make my decisions.
As I watched my dad cut holes into the walls around my kitchen and jump into a massive hole in the upstairs bathroom, I watched what I thought was the oh shit- budget breaking moment of my townhouse renovation project get fixed with a $16 piece of lumber and a ton of elbow grease from both my parents and myself. I thought that was it. The moment I blew my budget and got in over my head. I cannot believe my dad figured out how to fix it and trust me, if we had to call in someone else, it definitely would have been expensive.
There’s been a handful of hiccups along the way, don’t get me wrong.
This townhome hasn’t come without its problems. I may or may not have ruined the ceiling while trying to remove the popcorn ceiling, which actually turned out to be textured drywall mud. YIKES. I’m so thankful it looks good now that we added bead board (which I didn’t want at all) I’ve made some compromises in my original designer wants and needs in order to make things work. I thought I was going to have nice porcelain tile flooring in the half bath that matched the kitchen. I made a last minute decision to change that on one of the last few nights my parents were in town.
Our 7th trip to Lowe’s resulted in me buying an LVT tile flooring that I was hesitant on, but when I laid it down and grouted over it, I blew my own mind. I’m obsessed. So here’s a quick little peek at my plans for paint, tile, finishes and all the pretty stuff that will eventually all come together. As for instastories, I’ll keep sharing this wild ride if you’ll keep watching!
I need help picking out the hardware for my kitchen cabinets – which pull would you pair with the square knobs?
