7 Things Around the House that You Never Knew You Needed

A few of my favorite items around the house that have become my must haves.

7 Home items you never knew you needed

Do you ever see your favorite beauty bloggers posting their favorite makeup roundups on their blogs and think wow this was so helpful, or I need that blush! I do! I love when beauty bloggers I follow post a round up of their favorites or new finds, and I wanted to give it a try… but with my own little spin on it. Of course, it’s going to cover my favorite home decor items. So I’ve rounded up a few (7 to be exact) of my favorite things around the house and I’m naming them “the things you never knew you needed”.

[two_third]These gold scissors are my go to around the house for just about everything. From cutting open a package to even cutting fabric for my pillow shop, they’re such good quality and very sharp! A good quality pair of scissors can be overlooked but you never know what you’re missing out on until you try them! If you’re looking for a good pair, try these.[/two_third][one_third_last]

[two_third]This tiny marble bowl is actually a dipping bowl. You can find these in the kitchen section and they’re the perfect little catch all for your bathroom vanity. I always tend to have an excessive amount of items lingering on my bathroom counter during the week and I love this marble bowl that keeps my hair ties and rings, etc in one spot. My favorite places for these are Target, West Elm and Anthro![/two_third][one_third_last]

[two_third]We have a handful of wine stoppers but I love this decorative one for when guests come over with a bottle of wine. Not only is it adorable, but it looks expensive and when I hand it over to a guest to use while they’re over for movie night or dinner they’re impressed! These also make great gifts.[/two_third][one_third_last]

[two_third]Anthropologie is my go to place for a nice (giftable) designer candle. I love this Volcano candle and it’s one of those that I know everyone will love the smell of. Another hosting trick of mine, I love to light this in my bathroom before guests come over so it sets a nice, clean vibe for guests.[/two_third][one_third_last]

[two_third]I actually have a few of these small wooden boxes around the apartment. They’re perfect for hiding things like remotes or even cards, and other small items that you might not have a designated spot for. These wooden boxes are also the perfect object to stack on top of a stack of coffee table books as a decorative touch. If you’re looking for a wooden box, try this one.[/two_third][one_third_last]

[two_third]These marble coasters are from HomeGoods, and you can definitely find a good quality set of coasters at almost any store as long as you’re keeping an eye out. I love the heavy weight of these. They have a clean look to them and paired with the weight of the marble, they look like an investment item. Great for guests.. these are probably my most asked about item in my apartment.[/two_third][one_third_last]

[two_third]I’m definitely a little biased but I think I saved the best for last. These Edge wine glasses from Crate and Barrel are my new favorite. I’ve had the Olivia Pope ones for a while and I had my eye on these for a while before actually getting them… I’m so glad I did. I love the look of the square bottom. They’re a good weight and they don’t have to hold just wine. I’ve made mimosas, wine spritzers, and even drank kombucha out of these bad boys. Tip: I always buy the red wine size for a good size that fits in your hand.[/two_third][one_third_last]

Do you have any of these items at home? I’d love to hear which ones you might use or have on your wish list!

xo, Emma
