Fall is by far my favorite season. Not only is the weather this time of year right up my alley, but I love prepping for the holidays. I also love how easy it it to switch up my home decor for fall with a few adjustments and new additions to make it feel like home all over again.
With the help of my local At Home, I had the best time shopping for fall updates for my apartment. They have hundreds of new items each day so if you’re anything like me then you’ll have no problem filling your cart to the ceiling every time you go. Like always, I like to let the pictures do the talking – but don’t forget to scroll all the way to the bottom of the post to see an easy way to switch up your coffee table for fall!
Tips for decorating for fall:
- The coffee table is the easiest part of your living room to do a quick switch on. Start with that, add a basket with greenery or a pop of fall colors. Make sure nothing screams summer… like my white pineapple that I’ve put away for a few months. (trust me, it’ll be like new when summer comes around!)
- If you have a side table or a console table, those should be next. Add a new vase, or move your lamps around to create a new look. When in doubt, don’t be afraid to go neutral. I loved mixing metallics this season with a bronze vase, silver ginger jar and gold accents.
- Artwork. It’s so easy to switch a frame or the artwork in a frame in order to achieve the look you’re going for. I used two matching frames above my sofa with navy abstract paintings to create my fall look.
- Lastly, the finishing touches. Pillows and baskets will finish off the look for any season. For fall, I’m using monochromatic pillows to follow the blue theme I’m working on, and a large basket to act as a catch all for blankets.
